The annual feast of the church “The Birth of the Virgin Mary” in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is officially celebrated with many activities.

On Saturday September 19, 2009 in the Macedonian Cultural Center within the church, was held the traditional patron banquet and His Eminence, Metropolitan of the American-Canadian Diocese Metodij, cut the feast bread, brought by this year’s godfather of the church, Mr. Vladimir Stevanoski. After that, the new godfather for the next year was chosen; it’s the popular singer Mr. Pece Belkovski.

On September 20, 2009, The Hierarch Divine Liturgy was served by His Eminence, Metropolitan of the American-Canadian Diocese Metodij, together with the secretary of the Diocese, deacon Stevan Barjaktarov and priests from our Church, Very Reverend Sinisa Ristovski and reverend Goran Trpchevski.

On September 21, 2009, the day dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, parish priests, Very Reverend Sinisa Ristovski and Reverend Goran Trpchevski, served Holy Divine Liturgy together with Very Reverend Dimitar Alichanec and Very Reverend Alexei from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

At these celebrations we were honored with the presence of the Consul General of Republic of Macedonia in Detroit, His Excellency Mr. Igor Dukovski. 

The faithful took Communion of Christ’s Mysteries.
