Even far away from the fatherland, in the Church dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Detroit, tradition is alive and with fervent faith, dance, & Macedonian song.

On February 16th, 2008 the folk dance group TANEC, and the rest of the faithful marked the holiday The Meeting of Our Lord in the Temple.  The cultural celebration began with a prayer and thanksgiving to our Lord for the sucess of our youth, who sincerely honor the Orthodox Faith and their Macedonian traditions.  Afterwards the program continued with recitation of verses dedicated to St. Clement, patron of our Holy Church.  These events were followed by a folklore repertoire, a showing of handcrafts, and wine tasting of wine from Macedonia.  The festivities were concluded with a lovely choreography of the “Macedonian Wedding” and all its customs. 

 Our church would like to thank the parents of our youth and the head of the dance group TANEC for their support all year long.
